#44 Nag yourself

The title says it all. You can send yourself email messages, text messages, reminders etc all by using your phone which converts the data to email. Innovation concept - a techie delight.

#42 Google groups/Usenet

I have skipped Animoto and will go back to this exercise from my home computer. There certainly are some interesting groups on Google Groups. Keying in Art Deco, I discovered some very colourful postings (not all polite responses to other users).

#35 Mini or micro blogging

Twitter was quite interesting - I checked out jobloggs twitter. It took me several attempts before finding a unique username - so there must be a growing number of users subscribing to twitter. It is a wonderful tool for keeping in contact with colleagues and friends.

#32 Online file storage Box.net

I uploaded photos to box.net and had a lovely time rotating the images, changing colours and straightening the photos. How often I would use this site for work purposes is questionable, but it certainly was enjoyable using this site.

#31 Plaxo

It was easy to set up an account with Plaxo and organise my calendar and contacts list. However, I would be a tad wary sharing this information with all and sundry.

#29 Scrapblog

Well that was fun. I read the DaVinci Code until 2am - fascinating read.

#27 Photobucket

Initially I tried using Photbucket on the standalone internat machine and was unable to save images to an album (yes I did set up an account). After suitable annoyance, I tried saving images on my ATONET machine and presto - it worked.

#26 Widgets

Widgets or should we say midgets are fun - especially the horoscopes and quotes of the day widgets. LIS could possibly use widgets to link to the wiki from Rooms. I am sure there are many other applications for widgets.

#24 Zamzar

Well after a few months respite, the journey continues (had to check my password and remember how to blog again). Zamzar could be called "The Magic one"- very impressive. I converted a jpeg image to thumbnail and the post was in my gmail account within minutes. This site has so many uses converting pdf files to word documents and vice versa. It was very easy to follow the instructions and see the magic conversion! What clever programmers to invent Zamzar.
